royal mail van retroffited

It began life as black cab, but now it has been retrofitted to be a Royal Mail electric van as part of the company’s plan to reduce emissions.

Tests of the new style van are being carried out in Leeds, Derby, Edinburgh and Bristol. So expect to see a regional roll out later. It will add to the 295 Royal Mail electric vans currently in operation.

The van will be charged at local post offices and has been converted with help from the London Electric Vehicle Company.

Paul Gatti, fleet director at the Royal Mail, commented: “As a company, we are committed to making changes to our operations that reduce our environmental impact whilst ensuring we continue to meet customer expectations.”
